The event will take place on March 5 at the Burton Brach of the Genesee County Health Department, 3373 Saginaw St.. Burton, Michigan from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“We recognize the enormous task and the effort that the Genesee County Health Department is experiencing through this lead ordeal,” said Dr. Mouhanad Hammami, Director of the Wayne County Department of Health, Veterans and Community Wellness. “Our partnership with Henry Ford Health System will hopefully provide some relief to our colleagues in Genesee County who are working extremely hard to address any lead concerns Flint residents may have.”

“Henry Ford Health System is proud to lend support to our colleagues at the Genesee County Health Department and Wayne County for this incredibly important effort,” says Wright Lassiter III, President of Henry Ford Health System and interim CEO of its subsidiary Health Alliance Plan (HAP), which recently merged with Flint-based Health Plus.

“We are committed to making a difference in all of the communities we serve, and we are happy to provide our clinical expertise and resources in any way that is needed to assist the people of Flint.”

Adding to its commitment to the Flint community: Henry Ford and HAP announced last week a joint pledge to contribute $100,000 toward relief efforts to help those impacted by the Flint water crisis.

The $100,000 will be raised through a combination of employee donations and corporate support and will go toward the combined efforts of the United Way of Genesee County and the Flint Child Health and Development Fund, which provides aid to children and families who have been impacted by the water crisis.
