Effective September 2016 and January 2017
With the success of the Detroit Department of Transportation’s previous Community Input Workshops, DDOT will continue to engage the community during the planning stages of service improvements and expansion by holding four workshops at Detroit Public Library branches. These working meetings will allow DDOT to reach customers, residents, community partners and public transit stakeholders in all areas of the city to discuss general ideas to help further develop solid service proposals.
“Engaging the community during the planning process has been very helpful in growing and expanding bus service,” says Dan Dirks, DDOT director. “Continuing that dialogue and listening to the needs of our customers is very important.”
In addition to the Community Input Workshops, DDOT will also hold five formal public hearings where major service changes for September 2016 and January 2017 will be proposed based on input gathered at the workshops. These hearings will also allow DDOT to obtain formal public comments in direct response to the proposed changes.
