LOS ANGELES — Social media was quick to firebomb Keyshia Cole’s spot after she grudgingly, angrily and almost defiantly announced during the BET Awards 2015 that she was bypassing major labels to drop her album independently — twice.
Looking stunning in a skintight outfit, yet seeming like she wanted to throw something at the audience, she first spat out fire that she was releasing her album independently alongside Monica, briefly taking away the attention from the Centric Award. After The Weeknd was announced the winner, the R&B singer again said she was coming out with her own album independently again, replete with a sneer and storm off the stage.
