The Treasure Within will be hosting a crowning ceremony for the 2022 Mentor Program on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the Pelister Park Venue in Dearborn, MI 19600 Ford Rd. from 4:00 PM– 7:00 PM.
The Treasure Within Mentor Program is designed for young ladies ages 8-17. The 8-week mentor program helps them to develop social, emotional, and intellectual tools, with the hope to help them avoid negative traps like teen pregnancy, low educational achievement, and violence.
The program is intended to motivate, empower, uplift, build self-esteem and teach leadership skills. This is to enable them to recognize their goals, dreams, and desires for their lives. Teaching them that they too are leaders in their communities.
This year, 20 young ladies will be crowned Queen as they are celebrated for their achievements and completion of the 8-week program. The Crowning Ceremony is a formal affair taking place at The Pelister Park Venue in Dearborn, MI.
Lakina Fulks is a wife, mother, entrepreneur, and author. She is a successful businesswoman who believes in giving back. Along with running her day-to-day business as a Realtor and she is the founder of The Treasure Within, which will soon be broadening its services beyond the mentor program. Her passion is for all young ladies to know they are a Queen and it’s in them no matter what society tells them.
