Suzanne Shank, Chairman and CEO of Siebert Brandford & Shank LLC, is front and center in CBS 62’s upcoming “Eye On the Future: The Power of Women” TV special airing Sunday Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m.

Shank, one of the most powerful women on Wall Street, runs the financial behemoth with 17 offices. The company has underwritten over $2 trillion worth of financial transactions for bridges, schools, roads and more across the nation.  A mother of two, Shank has also excelled in giving back and helping the community in many ways, some of which are shown in the special.

Cathy Nedd, COO of The Michigan Chronicle, also appears in the CBS 62 special to talk about Shank’s imprint as does Juanita Moore, President & CEO of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History where Shank sits on its board.

The fast-moving special, the latest in the “Eye On The Future” series looking at issues impacting our region’s collective future, also highlights other women including: Mary Barra, CEO/Chairman of GM, Gretchen Valade, Chairman Emeritus of Carhartt, Andra Rush, CEO of Rush Group LLC, and Najah Bazzy, founder of Zaman International.  The late Rosa Parks, who inspired the civil rights movement when she refused to give her seat to a white man in 1955 and who lived in Detroit until her death in 2005, is also featured in the powerful program.

Tom Canedo, president and general manager of CBS 62/CW50, talked about the impact of the women profiled and his station’s mission to keep a focus on the region’s future with its “Eye on the Future” specials.

“Detroit is a community blessed with many strong, incredible women making an impact,” said Canedo, “and we’re pleased to help share their stories in this program.”

Carol Cain, the award-winning Senior Producer and Host of CBS 62’s “Michigan Matters,” also produced and hosts “The Power of Women.”
