Southfield Non-Profit Housing Corporation and Habitat for Humanity celebrate 50 years of Fair Housing Act

The Southfield Non-Profit Housing Corporation (SNPHC), in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County, will celebrate 50 years of the Fair Housing Act with a free community forum on Wednesday, April 11 from 11:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Southfield Public Library, 26300 Evergreen Road.
 
The theme for the forum is “Fair Housing Makes Southfield Stronger.” The event will begin with two videos created by the National Fair Housing Alliance followed by an interactive program featuring guest speakers Marlene Cain, Civil Rights Manager from the Michigan Department of Civil Rights and Margaret L.M. Brown, Executive Director of the Fair Housing Center of Metropolitan Detroit. The event is free and open to the public. A light “movie style” lunch will be served.
