The southbound lanes of I-75 will close in February for two years. MDOT said, they will completely rebuild the deck of the Rouge River Bridge.
Construction on northbound lanes will begin in 2018.
MDOT’s deputy region engineer Matt Chynoweth said “like all of our big projects, it’s probably going to be a little hectic.”
Alternate routes for the closure include I-96 west to I-275 south  and Fort Street.
The two year project will cost $149 million.
