Senior Power Days Continues with Jazz Concert Featuring Luther “Badman” Keith

images_belleislepicSenior Power Days on Belle Isle, a series of 11 events for southeast Michigan seniors, will continue with its second event Jazz on the Isle on Wednesday, July 22 at 10 a.m. at the Belle Isle Casino. Jazz on the Isle will feature Detroit’s own Luther “Badman” Keith—an award nominated musician who is also renowned for his leadership in the community.

“Seniors deserve recreational events just as much as informational ones,” said Stephanie Donaldson, visionary of Senior Power Days on Belle Isle. “Our kick-off event, the Senior Safety Summit, was a great success. We hope that seniors can enjoy this next event while relaxing and listening to the sounds of Detroit’s own Luther Keith.”

Luther “Badman” Keith is a native Detroit who released his third CD, Blues Nation, in 2010 and has been nominated for five Detroit Music Awards. He has represented Detroit as the city’s top blues band at the International Blues Challenge and played for Morgan Freeman at the actor’s former blues club, Ground Zero blues club in Memphis. Keith is also known for his leadership in the community as executive director of Arise Detroit, a coalition of community groups that encourage volunteerism throughout the city.

Jazz on the Isle is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring their own picnics and vendors will be available to purchase food and beverages.

Registration is not required but space is limited. Other upcoming Senior Power Days on Belle Isle events include:
