The holidays are nearly upon us and downtown Detroit has multiple festive offerings being held at Shinola Hotel to drink and be merry while dining this season locally.
Ranging from dining out “glamping boxes” to Saturday nights with Santa, there is a lot to see and do this winter with several highlights listed below:
Camp Birdy at San Morello
Sitting on the corner of Woodward and Grand River, the brand-new winter escape at San Morello features cozy chalets and next-level glamping in partnership with The Fields of Michigan. Guests can snuggle up in their private, decked out glamping boxes and sip on seasonal cocktail while dining on alpine-style fondue with black truffles, Guinness-braised short ribs and more. Camp Birdy also offers the option to add a tableside Champagne sabering lesson. Each reservation for Camp Birdy’s private chalets has a booking fee starting at $135/pp.
Guests and passersby can also visit Camp Birdy’s holiday tent bar (located adjust to the glamping boxes) offering a spot to grab hot cocktails, spiked cider and “hand warmers” like Michigan apple hand pies and more.
Reservations for Camp Birdy available here.
Jolly Hour at The Brakeman
Every Friday from 6pm-7pm and Saturday from 11pm-Midnight throughout December, Santa Clause will join patrons at The Brakeman, handing out tokens for the bar and spreading holiday cheer.
