Pittsburghers celebrate First Night

Once the clock read midnight, marking a new year, the celebration ended with its finale that featured a beautiful fireworks display.

First time First Night attendee Chanel Smith, formerly of Gary, Ind., and who now lives Downtown, said, “I have had a blast since I have been out here.  (It’s) the liveliness of everyone––they are friendly and everyone is enjoying themselves––and I love the music.”

When asked about a New Year’s resolution, Smith said, “I want to get back on my feet and continue to help others, like I have in the past. I also want to give back more.”
