Nearly 150 people came out to honor the decades of dedication and lifetime of achievements of Aubrey W. Lee, Sr. at a private Black History Month reception at the Charles H. Wright Museum last month.
The trailblazing executive, who was one of the first African American vice presidents of a major U.S. Bank, rose to become the Chairman, President & CEO of National Bank of Detroit’s Troy Bank and later, assumed responsibility for all lending and branch operations in the City of Detroit.
His 40-year career characterized by uncommon commitment, leadership and vision, was lauded by guests who paid homage to Lee’s role in recruiting and mentoring young talented bankers and business executives, many of whom stand among Detroit’s most recognized stakeholders.
This event was made possible by presenting sponsor Fifth Third Bank, Chase Bank, Comerica, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, Urban
Financial Services Coalition, Cindy Fletcher State Farm Insurance Agency Inc., New Detroit Inc. and the Michigan Chronicle.
