“The public relations industry is primarily dominated by women practitioners–since the gender shift in the mid 80s many of our male colleagues have disappeared and quite frankly gone unnoticed,” says LaToya Cunningham, President, National Black Public Relations Society-Detroit Chapter. “We wanted to enlighten and explore the gender, economic and professional disparities from the male perspective.”
NBPRS-Detroit, a professional organization re-established in October 2004, serves its members and community by providing strategic activities, building resources and creating anchor programs involving education, expansion and empowerment for African- American professionals.
