“Molina Healthcare was excited to join our community partners for these back-to-school events to support our ongoing mission of serving individuals and families in need,” said Lauren Royston, Manager of Community Engagement, Molina Healthcare of Michigan. “Donating 10,000 free backpacks to children who need them most provided an incredible opportunity for us to give back to the community and make a positive impact.”
As part of the company’s efforts to reach children in need throughout the state, Molina employees participated in The Youth Connection’s 15th Annual Back-to-School Fair on Belle Isle distributing 2,000 backpacks. Employees also gave away 500backpacks filled with brand new school supplies at the Hamilton NHCW Annual Back-to-School Fair in Flint. Thousands of school supplies were donated by Molina employees as part of a school supply drive held at the company’s Michigan headquarters in Troy.
Molina also participated in the recent Doors of Success – Essentials for Success “Back-to-School Bash” held at Corrigan Field in Detroit where Molina employee volunteers distributed 2,000 backpacks to children in attendance. Dr. Cleo, the company’s popular cat doctor mascot, was also on hand to give out backpacks and take photos with children and their families.
