18th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Commemorative Breakfast

Featuring Rev. Dr. Robert M. Franklin, Jr., James T. and Berta R. Laney Chair in Moral Leadership at Candler School of Theology, Emory University, and Morehouse College President Emeritus and Distinguished Professor of Social Ethics; special guests include Rev. Dr. JoAnn Watson, Associate Pastor of West Side Unity Church and host of the TV and radio show “Wake Up Detroit;” Tiffany Jones, Marathon Petroleum Company LP; and Franklin Wilkerson, ’77, Chapter President, Morehouse College Alumni – Detroit Chapter; with musical performances by Ken Boyd, Isis Damil and T’Zion Israel. Doors open at 7 AM; valet parking is included with ticket purchase. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is The Wright Museum’s busiest day of the year – and with good reason! It’s an exciting day of celebration that includes musical performances, arts & crafts, children’s workshops, storytelling, video tributes, displays of MLK and Coretta Scott King artifacts, the openings of two new exhibitions – i found god in myself: a celebration of Dr. Ntozake Shange’s for colored girls… and Collected With Pride: Amazing African American Art – and much, much more! All activities and exhibits are included in museum admission.
