First Lady Michelle Obama sat down with Oprah for her final interview before leaving the White House.
The First Lady was candid and admitted she and the president can sense a different mood from Americans surrounding this years presidential election.
“We feel the difference now, See, now, we are feeling what not having hope feels like. Hope is necessary. It’s a necessary concept and Barack didn’t just talk about hope because he thought it was just a nice slogan to get votes,” she said.
“He and I and so many believe that — what else do you have if you don’t have hope? What do you give your kids if you can’t give them hope?”
The final interview will air on Monday, December 19 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and again on OWN on December 21 at 9 p.m. ET.
