Roslyn English
Chief Executive Officer
D.A.N.C.E. Inc.
Roslyn English grew up on Detroit’s east side where she was home schooled (K-8th grade). Roslyn graduated from Renaissance High School with honors and was the captain of the golf team and the marching band’s majorette squad. During her sophomore year at Michigan State University, Roslyn and two MSU students founded D.A.N.C.E., (Developing And Nurturing Community Empowerment), a non-profit, 501(c)3, organization dedicated to impacting the lives of youth by providing arts and athletics training without financial barriers.
D.A.N.C.E. empowers its participants to become S.T.A.R.S. (Students Taking Active Roles in Society) through community service opportunities, character development, academic enrichment, mentoring, and leadership development. After graduating from MSU with a B.S. in Economics and Secondary Education, Roslyn expanded the D.A.N.C.E. program to the Detroit area. Since then, D.A.N.C.E. has become a multi-platinum, national award winning dance program with locations in Detroit, Lansing, and Romulus. In addition to D.A.N.C.E., Roslyn works for the State of Michigan and is also the Head Cheerleading Coach at Southfield Christian School (awarded 2014 District Coach of the Year). It is her desire to eventually open a school.
