Tiff Massey is one of the leading mixed-media artists based in Detroit, Michigan. Massey has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Eastern Michigan University and a MFA in metalsmithing from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Tiff’s works are an observation of class and race in contemporary culture viewed through the lens of the African diaspora and life in Detroit. Many of her large scale and wearable sculptures are inspired from African standards of wealth and are heavily rooted in 80’s iconic hip hop jewelry.
Massey has most recently exhibited at the Redbull House of Art residency program, Cycle 8 (2014). As the only female artist, Massey presented a modular wall piece based on Kente cloth which is currently on exhibit.

Massey is currently an adjunct professor at Macomb Community College teaching jewelry and metalsmithing.
