A strong proponent of education and family values, Marcus Ivery shares his enthusiasm, commitment and expertise as a Senior Financial Analyst with General Motors with several Michigan-based organizations and efforts, including the National Association of Black Accountants, Institute of Internal Auditors, Detroit Rescue Mission, Goodwill Industries’ “Flip the Script Mentoring Program” and others.
Mr. Ivery is President of the Ivery Literacy Foundation, which provides vital educational resources and materials to children at early stages of learning that they otherwise would not receive. The Ivery Literacy Foundation has provided nearly 4,000 books, backpacks and school supplies to help make children “elementary school-ready,” and also provides early education scholarships.
He recently co-authored the book Black Fatherhood: Reclaiming Our Legacy, with his father, Dr. Curtis L. Ivery. This book aims to highlight the importance of being a present father while breaking the stereotype that surrounds Black fatherhood.
Mr. Ivery is a member of the Detroit Athletic Club (DAC). He received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Michigan State University and will receive his MBA this fall from the University of Detroit Mercy.
