Karissa is a Senior Commercial Attorney at DTE Energy Company. In this role, she provides advice and counsel across a variety of energy sectors. Notably, she supports DTE’s oil & gas development arm, which owns, manages and develops a network of gas gathering, storage and transmission assets serving the Midwest, Northeast and Ontario, Canada regions.
Karissa is also very committed to making a positive difference in her community. She is currently the board chair of Detroit Young Professionals, an organization that provides professional development, civic engagement and networking opportunities for young professionals and entrepreneurs. She also serves on the board of the Brush Park Citizens’ District Council and the Neighborhood Advisory Committee (Olympia Hockey Arena Development) to ensure that community member voices are considered in important Midtown developments.
A natural problem solver, Karissa is energized by finding solutions to complex and unfamiliar problems. In all of her endeavors, Karissa strives for excellence. She was recognized in 2013 as an Up & Coming Lawyer by Michigan Lawyers Weekly and awarded the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association’s Community Impact Award in 2014.
