Detroit Mortgage Program to increase homeownership in Detroit’s neighborhoods

mayor-duggan_opt1Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan joins local banks, nonprofit organization leaders and the real estate industry on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, 11:30 a.m.to unveil the Detroit Home Mortgage initiative – a new mortgage to address Detroit’s appraisal financing gap and increase homeownership in the City, announced as a Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Commitment to Action.

Local banks and nonprofit organizations will come together, on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 18601 Puritan Ave. to offer a unique new mortgage to promote the purchase and repair of neighborhood houses

Oraganizing partners and participants include: the City of Detroit: Mayor Mike Duggan; Community Reinvestment Fund, USA. Frank Altman, President and CEO; The Kresge Foundation, Rip Rapson, President and CEO; North Rosedale Park Resident, Latrice McClendon; Detroit Association of Realtors. Kamal Cheeks, President; Huntington Bank, Steve Steinour, Chairman, President and CEO; Flagstar Bank: Sandro DiNello, President and CEO; Talmer Bancorp, Gary Torgow, Chairman; First Merit Michigan, Sandy Pierce, Chairman and CEO; Liberty Bank: Drextel Amy, Regional President, Michigan; and Clinton Foundation President, Donna E. Shalala.
