
In the interim an estimated 10,000 people or more flooded the freeway in the rain Sunday afternoon. A 1.7 mile to walk, bike, run a 4-lane section of westbound I-96 between Stark and Newburgh.
Governor Rick Snyder was also among the crowd congratulating workers for completing the project early and on-budget and thanking drivers for their patience. The 7 miles of the freeway got a facelift from Telegraph Rd. in Redford Township to Newburgh Rd. in Livonia.
