Detroit is turning 313 years old and the city is having a 3 day festival to celebrate!
If you did not know, Detroit was founded on July 24, 1701 and is one of the oldest cities in the midwest. The city has had its share of ups and downs, but just like the residents in Detroit, you can’t keep a great city down!
So grab your best Detroit 313 gear and hit the town to celebrate the D!
 
■ Detroit Loves the Riverfront: Free riverfront celebration at Milliken State Park with lawn games, ice cream and music. 6-8 p.m. Monday. More info:www.ForwardArtsDetroit.org/DetroitLove.
■ Neighborhood Public Art Tour: Celebrate northwest Detroit and its fantastic neighborhood public art. Free tours at 1 and 4 p.m. Wednesday. Tours last 2½ hours and leave from the Detroit Institute of Arts. Space limited. RSVP at 313-833-4005.
■ Detroit’s 313th Birthday Celebration: 6-10 p.m. Thursday at Detroit Historical Museum. Cash bar, food truck rally, all-Detroit musicfrom Motor City Soul Club; $10, $5 for DHS members. Buy tickets atwww.detroithistorical.org or at the door.
