The Michigan Liberation, Center for the Works of Mercy and Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan want Michigan residents looking for a fresh start to attend their upcoming Expungement Fair for all Michigan residents.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, April 9 at the Center for the Works of Mercy, 8642 Woodward Ave. in Detroit, legal professionals will be available to evaluate attendees’ records, discuss options and assist with expungement filings. Attendees are welcome to bring their identification and court documents (if available).

This event is open to the general public and walk-ins are available.

Clean Slate (Expungement)

  • The clean slate expungement project focuses on community outreach to expunging people’s criminal records.
  • A clean slate expungement will enable clients to experience life-sustaining changes, including employment with a fair wage, the ability to secure affordable housing, healthcare benefits, and educational/training options.
  • In collaboration with Safe + Just Michigan, we hold information sessions and fairs to support, educate and build relationships with any Michigan resident with a criminal record eligible for expungement (eligibility for expungement begins five years after completion of probation or parole).
