First Motor City Makeover cleanup, Saturday, May 7

CleanUp.jpg.jpgIt’s not too late to join thousands of volunteers cleaning and beautifying neighborhoods for Motor City Makeover. The first of three Saturday cleanups for Motor City Makeover will be held this Saturday, May 7 in Districts 6 & 7.
This year, cleanup dates will be organized by City Council district as follows:
• May 7 – Districts 6 & 7
• May 14 – Districts 3, 4 & 5
• May 21 – Districts 1 & 2
Below are several cleanup locations on May 7:
DISTRICT 6

HOW TO REGISTER
Individuals, community groups, block clubs, business owners, churches and schools must register with the City of Detroit Department of Neighborhoods in order to receive a limited supply of bags, gloves and bottled water, as well as information regarding special pickups of bagged litter and roll-off containers. The Motor City Makeover campaign is in partnership with Keep Detroit Beautiful, which focuses on cleaning, beautification, recycling, adopting parks and vacant lots, and gardening.
