
Film//Play takes place on December 11, 2014 starting at 6:00 p.m.. The evening features short films by noted Detroit filmmakers, Anton Bassey, Myron Watkins and Hayward Crawford, plus scenes from an original play by Aaron Timlin and live musical interludes. A panel discussion will give aspiring local actors, writers and directors a chance to engage with successful local professionals, and learn what it takes to break into the Detroit’s burgeoning theater and film scene. Panelists include Mike McGettigan (actor/director/improv), Henri Franklin (actor/director/instructor), Molly McMahon (actor/director), Anton Bassey (actor/curator) and Marshalle Montgomery (curator). Film Play Detroit provides a networking and knowledge sharing experience in the cozy surroundings of The Elizabeth Theatre, directly above The Park Bar. This event is meant for anyone who is interested in film and theater in Detroit. A lively panel discussion kicks off the evening at 6pm, then a short break to network and socialize, and then the show starts at 8pm.
