Don Lemon Fired From CNN

Don Lemon, a news anchor who has been with CNN for 17 years, has announced that he has been terminated from the network. In a statement posted online, Lemon said that he was informed by his agent about the decision and expressed shock that no one in management had the decency to inform him directly.

Lemon’s recent controversies may have contributed to his termination. After moving from his prime-time show to “CNN This Morning,” Lemon has been the subject of several controversies. Earlier this year, he faced backlash for claiming that presidential candidate Nikki Haley was past her prime, stating that women are considered to be in their prime in their 20s, 30s, and maybe 40s. His co-host, Poppy Harlow, questioned Lemon’s statement and asked for clarification, but Lemon responded by suggesting that people could look it up on Google.

Last week, Lemon went viral for a contentious interview with Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, during which Harlow sat there silently, unable to get a word in. After the interview, Lemon appeared to cut Harlow off as she tried to invite Ramaswamy back to discuss other topics.

CNN released a statement thanking Lemon for his work over the past 17 years and wishing him well in his future endeavors. However, the network responded to Lemon’s statement, calling it “inaccurate” and stating that he was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.
