Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan is scheduled to deliver his first State of the City address Wednesday night at the Erma Henderson Auditorium located in City Hall.
The annual speech, which is by invitation only, will be the first address since the city of Detroit declared bankruptcy.
Mike Duggan is the first white mayor of Detroit in forty years and the second mayor to work under an emergency manager.
Under the state’s emergency manager law, Kevyn Orr controls Detroit’s finances. Duggan is in charge of financial matters relating to day-to-day functions of city government, blight removal and some other city operations.
The mayor’s address is scheduled for 7 p.m.
