About Boys 2 Books:
Boys 2 Books is a nationally recognized after-school mentorship program, which entails testing the reading levels of the young males involved, developing reading skills, and empowering young men via culturally relevant rich literature. Books are used as a bridge to help young men navigate from boyhood to manhood.
This work has continued throughout the United States, to 500 boys, at The Fessenden School in West Newton, Massachusetts. Fessenden is the oldest all boys, junior boarding school in America (attended by Senator John Kerry, Senator Edward Kennedy, and John F. Kennedy, Jr.).
Boys 2 Books have received national endorsements by the U.S. Congress, National Black Law Student Association, and Black Male Engagement Initiative. Boys 2 Books have also partnered with Wayne State University and their (SAAB) Student African American Brotherhood college program.
The efforts of Eddie Connor and Boys 2 Books, assisted in passing a Resolution in the U.S. Congress (H.RES.721), to express that bolstering literacy amongst African-American and Hispanic males is an urgent national priority.
