Flint H2O Justice to speak out and take action for safe water
April 25, 2018 is the anniversary of the date in 2014 when the Flint water crisis began. This year scores of residents are headed to Lansing under the banner, “Four Years Too Long”. They will also respond to Gov. Snyder’s continued refusal to reopen bottled water distribution sites in Flint. Bus loads of affected residents and supporters will go to Lansing to keep up pressure on state government officials to do the right thing and ensure them safe water is the event theme. Last week, protesters disrupted a state house session with chants of “Do your job! Open the pods!” On Wednesday, the H2O Justice coalition will make their voices heard to state executives and legislators. A second rally will be held in Flint when they return.
The bus will leave from First Trinity Baptist Church in Flint at 9AM and arrive at City Hall in Lansing at 10AM for a rally and press availability. When the bus leaves for Flint at 2PM, the group will go to the Flint City Hall at 3PM for another rally and further press availability.
The Flint H2O Justice coalition is comprised of members of C.A.U.T.I.O.N, Democracy Defense League, Fight For 15, Flint Rising, Flint Water Class Action Group, Michigan Voice, Standing up for Clean Water and Water You Fighting For, Michigan United and Flint residents.
