Celebrate Motown, Detroit, and Winter at Valade Park This Weekend!

Detroiters, get ready to celebrate your love for the Motor City this weekend at Motown Magic, a special event happening January 19-21 at Robert C. Valade Park! Motown Magic is part of the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy’s popular Winter at Valade series, featuring family-friendly fun every weekend until February 25th.

Here’s what you can look forward to at Motown Magic:

  • Live Music: Groove to the sounds of Theo Gridiron, Chris Canas, and Alise King on Saturday.
  • Poetry and Writing Workshops: Share your love for Detroit through words at the “Love Letters to Detroit” workshop and open mic on Friday.
  • Local Food Trucks: Satisfy your cravings with Detroit-style pizza from Panzerotti and coneys and hanis from Taste of Motown on Saturday.
  • Fun Activities for Kids: Enjoy crafts, bubble parties, face painting, a visit from Turbo the Motor City Cruise mascot, and even a chance to see a real Grand Prix car on Saturday.
  • Lions Tailgate Celebration: Gear up for the game on Sunday with give-aways, face painting, games, food from Smokey G’s Smokehouse, and music from DJ ShaeButta.

  • Friday: 4pm-9pm
  • Saturday: Noon-9pm
