This June renowned author and speaker Cecil Murphey of Atlanta, GA and Christian author EN Joy from Columbus, OH will join the Michigan based festival to assist filmmakers, literary entrepreneurs and playwrights in taking their craft to a higher level of excellence.
Blessed-Selling Author and Literary Consultant EN Joy, author of several novels in the Christian Fiction, Children’s and Young Adult genres, will teach Self Publishing in the New Digital Age. Mr. Murphey, a master writer, has written or co-written more than 135 books, including the New York Times bestseller 90 Minutes in Heaven (with Don Piper) and Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story (with Dr. Ben Carson).His books have sold in the millions and have brought hope and encouragement to countless people around the world. As keynote he will speak on ‘Unleashing the Writer Within’.
The 3rd Annual GloryReelz event kicks off with a Red Carpet Reception on Friday evening June 6 and the Festival and Conference Saturday June 7, 2014. Submissions are still being accepted. The theme for this year is: Equip, Inspire, Entertain- Threefold Filmmaking and Writing. GloryReelz is seeking films, stage plays and books looking to be made into films for the festival. Entries should fit in the categories of Inspirational, Faith-Based, Christian or Family Friendly films.
As co-director of the festival Alan Brooks is excited to be a part of something so big in the Metro area. “I feel blessed to be a part of something so huge. We started out just wanting to provide basic training, and a platform whereby filmmakers and writers could not only showcase their work, but be honored for it and now films are receiving distribution deals, attendees are collaborating on projects and it’s amazing how it’s all coming together”.
Presented by Her Shine, a charitable media arts ministry catering to women and underserved youth, the festival is open to anyone wanting to learn or support family friendly and faith-based media projects.
