With hundreds planning to descend on Lansing from Detroit and around the state, rallygoers will urge Michigan lawmakers to do the right thing for the students and families of Detroit, helping to ensure that every child in the city can attend safe, healthy and welcoming neighborhood public schools where educators and students are well supported and respected.
The rally will be an opportunity to advocate for the roughly 47,000 students served by the Detroit public school system and show that it is time to work together to deliver solutions to improve the lives of these children.
