The annual trauma symposium attracts attendees from nearly every state in the U.S. and from a number of foreign countries. Speakers include the leading names in trauma medicine. Cutting-edge treatments and developing research are presented with opportunities for interaction and questions. This year’s symposium includes sunrise sessions each day, one for trauma nurses, one for physicians. Additionally, DMC Chief of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Dr. Keith Kaye, will speak on the Ebola virus disease at lunchtime on Thursday, November 6.
Originally developed for physicians in emergency and trauma medicine, the symposium now includes medical students, residents, nurses, EMS techs and other allied health professionals. Attendees receive continuing medical education credit for their participation.
Dr. Lawrence Diebel is the organizer and chair of the event.
“Each year the Symposium has something new for everyone in the trauma field,” noted Dr. Lawrence Diebel. “We look forward to sharing the best practices in emergency medicine with all attendees again this year. We’re grateful for the prominence of our speakers, to which we attribute the continuous success of the symposium.”
